Luxe City guides

A friend recently showed me his LUXE City Guide for Hong Kong, and I instantly fell in lust with the line of information-rich, sumptuously-designed, diminutive guidebooks. Their small size is their most striking asset – they fold up, accordion-style, into brochure-sized, pocketable dimensions.

Covering 16 Asian, Middle Eastern, and Australian cities’ swankiest hotels, bars, and restaurants, the books appear to be accurate and timely, as they’re updated every six months by local resident contributors. (Indeed, the guides ooze sarcasm and authority.) The only downside to the series is that titles for destinations outside the region don’t (yet?) exist. Individual books will run you $9, and various box sets (such as the Asian Grand Tour and the blinged-out Bespoke version) are also available.
